Our Founding Story

Waero was born from the pure frustration of a major travel disruption. Our founders found themselves stranded at the airport after a weekend trip, facing a wave of delayed and cancelled flights. Airline status apps were contradictory, terminal support lines were hours long, and securing a hotel or an affordable rideshare felt impossible.

In that moment of chaos, we found ourselves constantly calculating incoming flight paths and texting friends at other terminals to figure out what was actually happening. We realized that all the crucial information existed, but the travelers who had it couldn't talk to each other.

The breakthrough came when one of us remarked: "I wish there was a way to communicate directly with people who are actually at the airport or booked on my exact flight." The other said... "It's like Waze… but for airplanes!"

That single idea changed everything. Today, Waero is a community-powered assistant that gives passengers the live, ground-level updates they need, when they need it most — because the most valuable travel updates come from the people sharing the journey with you.
